On the twenty-sixth day of December, in the year of our lord two thousand and fifteen:

At the posting of the watch, we wait……  

In the fading light, close to night. After all the doors are closed, and new toys are put away.

Church bells stop ringing, the carolers end their singing.

We wait, on the morning light.

The clock starts ticking down, and the cleaning crew is wearing frowns, as the wrapping paper and party favors are all swept away.  

We wait on the dawn, of a brand new day!
